We're On Our Way

Mini-vacation, here we come! We are leaving this morning to go to Park Rapids for 4 days and 3 nights. This will be our second time meeting Aaron's brother and family at this little resort. It isn't anything special or fancy. The decorating is nothing great. (remember those calendars in the 80's that were made out of cloth and hung from some string? the kind with Precious Moments or animals?? that sort of decorating!)

It is also a lot of work. We are taking my parents' small trailer behind the Suburban. Not even kidding...it would be so much easier to go to Hawaii or something. This is like doing the work of camping, only sleeping and cooking indoors. We are taking Micah's full-sized high chair and strapping him in out by the picnic area.

But it will be so much fun. Memories will be made. The kids love the beach area and looking for rocks, shells, and baby fish. They will have a great time fishing and going out in the paddle boat. We will probably venture up to Itasca again so the kids can stick their little toes in the place where the great Mississippi begins. We will have bonfires and roast marshmallows. We will play cards and outdoor games. But mostly we will just be together. We love hanging out with Mike and Penny and their kids. In fact, one of the last things Glory said before going to sleep last night was, "Can't I just go see Logan now?" (cousin 2 days older than her)
