Maggie-"Mom, I need a gal."
Me- "What are you talking about?"
Maggie- "You know, a gal of milk?"
Maggie has been working with measures of capacity. Yesterday I whipped out a quart jar, a gallon of milk, a dry measuring cup, and a 2 liter pop bottle to compare English measures with the metric system. I guess I have never heard any of my other kids refer to the measurements by their abbreviations!

I love to abbreviate when I talk! She is my kind of gal!
my 9 year old does that. talks in abbreviations. it especially drives me crazy when he just uses the first initials of everything he's talking about! crazy.
